Signature Flight Support and the Airport Host the Collings Foundation
A big congrats goes to the folks at Signature Flight Support for helping the Collings Foundation base here for a few days last week – Friday until Monday – to offer the community a close look at these vintage WWII aircraft, the B-17, B-24, B-25 & P-51 Mustang.
Signature said “Thousands of aviation enthusiasts and families came to tour and take a flight. It brought back countless memories and stories for many former military people who were involved with these aircraft. The Foundation offered rides and/or promotional items at a fee with proceeds directed back to the organization to help maintain the aircraft.”
The Collings Foundation said the visit was a huge success. They thanked both the Airport and the Signature-PWK staff for its hospitality and support. To help support the Foundation; Signature deeply discounted the fuel delivered to the 4-aircraft during the entire stay.
Signature and Collings estimated some 2,200 people visited, with 1,550 paid patrons. The aircraft conducted 34 rides carrying 160 people. The flights broke down as a dozen in the P-51, and 22 spread amongst the B-17, B-24 and B-25.
As you can tell from the attached photos, there were many proud smiles to go around. www.chiexec.com
